Chesterton Welcomes New Faculty Members

Mr. Thomas Finke joins us from St. Edmund Campion Classical Academy in Cincinnati, OH, where he taught science, Latin, Greek, and drama to students in grades 7-12. He holds a bachelor's degree in classical languages from Xavier University.

Mr. Patrick Lechner comes to us from Northridge Preparatory School in Chicago, IL, where he taught religion and English. Northridge Prep is a private, Opus Dei school for young men in grades 6-12. Mr. Lechner has a bachelor's degree in English and Catholic studies from the University of St. Thomas.

Miss Leah Balster comes to us from St. Mary’s Central High School and St. Mary’s Academy in Bismarck, where she taught English and drama. She is a Teach for Christ Educator and an alumna of Chesterton, Class of 2013. She holds a bachelor's degree in English Education from the University of Mary.

Mrs. Mara Hertelendy will join the Chesterton Academy faculty to teach Italian to juniors and seniors. She holds bachelors degrees in both Italian and Chinese, along with a master's in Chinese.  She taught Italian at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus, for nine years.
