Chesterton Academy is offering four weeks of summer instruction for rising Freshmen and Sophomore students who need review in the areas of Math and Grammar/Writing skills. Freshmen and new incoming sophomores accepted into Chesterton Academy with recommendations, must attend the sessions recommended by the Academic Dean.

Rising sophomores may attend any course if they received a recommendation from any of their teachers.

One 4-week course | $150

Course Descriptions

  • Pre-Algebra Review (Incoming Freshmen and Rising Sophomores)
    9:00AM - 12:00PM | June 24, 27, July 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25

This class aims to bring the students’ pre-algebra skills up to the level that is needed to enter the freshman math class with confidence. The course will meet Mondays and Thursdays in June and July. Homework will be assigned between classes and online work will be expected and monitored during the summer weeks before and after the summer sessions.

  • Algebra Review (Rising Sophomores Only)
    12:30PM - 3:00PM | June 24, 27, July 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25

This class aims to strengthen the algebra skills of rising sophomores to prepare the students for the Algebra II course at Chesterton. The course will meet Mondays and Thursday in June and July. Homework will be assigned between classes and online work will be expected and monitored during the summer weeks before and after the summer sessions.

  • Grammar/Writing Course (Incoming Freshmen and Rising Sophomores)
    12:30PM - 3:00PM | June 24, 27, July 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25

This course will review basic grammar and writing skills in order to better prepare the student for all the writing courses at Chesterton as well as the mandatory Latin courses. The course will meet Mondays and Thursdays in June and July. Homework will be assigned between classes and online work will be expected and monitored during the summer weeks before and after the summer sessions.
